Faye F. Driggers, 93, of Carmi passed away on January 18, 2025, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL. She was born on November 27, 1931, in Dogtown, the daughter of Mark and Ruby (Burris) Frashier. Faye attended a one room school in Dogtown through the 8th grade till her parents moved to Carmi for her to attend and graduate from Carmi Township High School in 1949. On February 10, 1950, she married Elmer F. Driggers on and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2003. Faye began married life as a farm wife but later went back to school and attended SIC and then Indiana State University-Evansville, graduating with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. Faye worked as a receptionist for Dr. Veatch before becoming the secretary and bookkeeper at the White County Nursing Home. After the retirement of Woody Proctor, Faye became the administrator of the nursing home till its closure in 1981.
